What i did on my day off.

Boredom + day off + reading about SRT4 = me being stupid. I read about how the SRT-4 doesn't have a muffler and wondered what my Saab would sound like. Aside from an air intake mod, the car is totally stock.

Unfornately the mic didn't pickup the deep bass reverberation that was causing everything to vibrate! If you don't think the idle is loud, you don't have the volume high enough. It actually hurt my ears to drive around for an extended period of time. I'm now angry at Saab for putting such a quiet exhaust on such a wonderful sounding engine.

my friend test drove a car with a broken exhaust, more like no exhaust from almost the headers.. tunred off my car alarm.. not cool

thats a vid of me driving my old civic.. see that loud bass note you're refering too, trust me not good.. I had it cause my muffler got a big hole in it after a big bump.. if I had a passenger next to me, we used to shout when we had conversation cause it was so loud, and the fact that it attract cops.

By removing the muffler you LOSE power might sound good in some ears but it hurts the engine and you lose power.

umm not always...

You are removing restriction in the exhaust itself. Yes removing the extractors would make the engine lose power because it knock the shit out of the engine but removing the muffler is not nesessaryly going to lose you power.

My car has a turbo so the less back pressure the better. But in my case the most restrictive part of the exhaust is the down pipe and cat so unbolting the muffler didn't even help the turbo spool. :lol:
