what video editors do you guys use?

I recorded few tv shows with my Media Center, already converted the .dvr-ms files to .mpg

can anyone recommand me a "midcore" video editor? I alrady have Premiere Pro from school, I just need something that's easy to use and fast to cut out the commericals.
