Spun off from the Random Automotive Thoughts thread. Simple rules: show a kit or modified car that's based on the frame or body of a production car. The objective is to guess what car it's based on.

Lets try this one:

Looks as though it could be the Eclipse Spyder. The newer one.

What is it then?

It's an Eclipse. Note the profile, the door, and mirror positions.

I guess it is my turn.

Nope. Its an Eclipse with a 350Z front end, G35 rear end and a full Impreza AWD drivetrain.

Here's another one:

It is British.

MG Midget?

* Reader Matt Mazza found the above picture of a wood-bodied car in his Internet ramblings, but found no information to explain it, so he asked us if we?d ever seen it. Before we could even answer him, he?d exercised his Google muscle and found that the photo came from Flickr member gocarts? photostream, and saw that it was tagged as part of the Stowe 2001 photoset, which led Matt to believe that it was photographed at the British Invasion show, and indeed, the British Invasion site lists the car ? a rebodied 1974 MG Midget belonging to Paul and Yvonne Jacobson of Mashpee, Massachusetts ? as an award winner for that year. Good work, Matt!
