My old Alfa GT is now gone (post with pics)

Replaced by a new Alfa 159 2.2 JTS. Here it is:

That car is awesome.
I love the little details that Alfa puts in, like not covering the engine up with a piece of plastic.

Lovely car, nice wheels and great colour choice!

How's the Alfa's GPS system. Any good?

I'd say the GPS is good but not great. It's quite an old system actually: it's basically a slightly updated version of the Fiat Stilo GPS, introduced in 2001.

It's got GPS, GSM, MP3 support, and voice activation. It integrates with the car, so you can check out your trip computer figures from the sat nav screen, or set various options (like door autoclose at 20 km/h) using the sat nav instead of the ? somewhat clumsy ? buttons on the indicator stalk. And, of course, it displays sat nav, radio and phone info on the instrument panel screen.

But it has its share of problems... on the top of my head:
- maps on CDs, not DVDs... Italy is divided in two CDs. So, if you make a long trip, you might have to swap discs.
- no dedicated CD drive for map data
- the CD Changer only reads standard audio CDs: if you want to use MP3, you have to eject the map CD.

A new sat nav system will be introduced next year... hopefully, it will solve the problems of the current one.

Arrggg that would be frustrating changing CD's on a long trip  But at least you'd be having a ball driving that car there :D

Bought a Honda Civic EXi, 2006 a month or so ago, done 5000km so far.

Sweet, even the lower end models have that cool halo-like speedo :D
