What's your latest [non-technology] purchase?

A few boxes, and stuff to fill them...

Waffle maker, impulse buy when I saw it on special at 35$ at Stokes yesterday.

Tried it this morning,

I bought the waffle iron plates for my Griddler.

Great failure.

Does it swivel? And why? I'm intrigued.

It does, most well rated waffle makers seem to operate on that principle, I have no idea why.

And I'm intrigued by your first quote, glitch from the multi-quote system?

On the contrary, by wearing a helmet, you classify yourself as a pedestrian on two wheels.

When you pour batter into a waffle iron, it fills in the bottom plate evenly as it settles and spreads. But when you close the top, it doesn't necessarily rise up to meet the top plate to cook evenly. By flipping, it allows the batter to then settle into the "top", for an even outside "crust".

Why you no SPD, yo?! I'm kidding, that is totally impractical and unnecessaryfor commuting :D

That. I looked at hybrid pedals for a bit, but the price difference was significant, and I really don't want to have to check the orientation of my pedals every time I get on the bike.

Wintersun announced their first ever Aussie tour (well 3 shows in Australia and a show in New Zealand), and I managed to snag tickets without any drama, when they went on sale just now.

Considering I never thought I'd get an opportunity to see them outside of Finland, I'm pretty happy with this.

Coming from the Ukania so, it's going to be a while.

I remember my first european-made Milke. That was damn tasty...I've had it since several times, but didn't grab me the same way. it wasn't until years later than I learned that the stuff sold in the US (at least at the time) was likely made in Chicago by Kraft. Bah.

I had found one in a gas station in middle of nowhere Michigan earlier this year. No evidence showed it was from Kraft...

I don't even know what I need paper for, but I'd be damned if I didn't buy 3 reams.

...

Unfortunately, the price kinda bumps up once I factor in the plane picket

When it comes to chocolate, this one is my guilty pleasure:

What is that?

Bounty, just with bitter chocolate.

According to wikipedia, Bounty is sold in just one grocery store chain in the US, the market leader there is the similar product Mounds.

Huh...I never realized it wasn't sold anymore at most stores. It's M&M/Mars' version of Hershey's Mounds. I remember seeing them side-by-side in grocery stores as a kid.
