Which animal ist this?

And I love sphynxes (spelling?) for the record, they have kick-ass personality and don't shed to boot. But I will admit cats with fur are cuter :)

They creep me out so much... just thinking my cat (and all others) look like that under their fur even creeps me out.

Plus you need to bathe them regularly, that can't be an easy task given it's still a cat.

But to each their own I guess, I don't like the aye-aye either unlike some seem to here.

It doesnt have obvious "needles"

I'm just getting a new pic that shows the side.

Different kinds of porcupine have different arrangement of quills. Some have quills in a large group and others, like the one in the picture, have less pronounced quills right next to their fur.

The moderators must be dangerously close to renaming the thread "Post ugly animals here."

Or there's title material there... "Mr. Ugly Animal 2009"

What's the difference between Hedge Hogs and Porkupines? Doesn't it have something to do with the needles?

They're actually not related. Their quills are different, porcupine quills are long and come out of their body very easily while hedgehogs have short quills which tend to stay put. But their differences are deeper than that.

They can also look quite different:

Oh shi- that's the mammal other than duckbilled platapi that lays eggs. I knew there was another but forgot what it was and couldn't be bothered to ever look it up.
