I've got an extra GMail invite floating around. First person to PM me with their current e-mail address gets a coveted pre-release Google Mail account. :D

i skimmed it and unless you are working for al-queda or are a nerdy hacker you have nothing to worry about.

its really over-reacting to privacy policies etc and unless you have somthing that could get you in trouble with the law, kiddie porn, terror stuff, criminal contacts etc then you dont need to worry about this.

^ The article has a few points, but it mostly comes across as paranoid techno-luddite ramblings. If a person were paranoid about GMail, they better also be paranoid about Google Search, Google News etc...

Answer me this though: would you rather have your personal e-mail in the hands of Microsoft or Google? It's a pretty easy answer for me. :p

Note: The whole section on the difficulty of deleting e-mails is complete nonsense. You select the emails you want to delete, you send them to your trash. You go to the trash, and empty it. It's no different than any other web based e-mails - things are termed slighly different, but it's the exact same process as any web based e-mail I've used.

Luddites.

oh shit...how long do they keep stuff archived again?

The think the whole "we scan your emails and send you advertising" is nothing for me. I would prefer to pay a certain fee for a similarservice with privacy instead. It's not that i've got something to hide but that doesn't mean that some firm should be scanning through my emails. Funny thing is that the Gmail service might collapse with German privacy laws :D
Btw anyone who wants a Gmail accoun can get them at http://isnoop.net/gmailomatic.php for free.
