Whoa, the Corvette has paddle shifters?

mmm sexy. Check out how flat that torque curve is

LG Cam, Headers, minor exhaust port work and EWP (electric water pump) and some other special LGM touches!

Thats around 170 more whp over stock

That's not a lot of engine work for something the size of an M3 motor to put out

Exactly which engine? Ls 1/2/6/7? I don't know of an LS motor that is only 3.2/3.3 litre's. And what are "the special touches"?

Edit: it's the LS7. Now lets let Leaf-spring/ vettes suck threads end.

by size I meant footprint of the engine and I assumed everyone knew it was the LS7 considering this is a Z06 thread

Is that guy actually boasting about making 620hp out of a 7 litre v8? What? Am I missing something?

No, 620hp isn't big enough to boast about if it's coming from a 7 litre. My first car had more hp per litre than that.

Like i said, i may be missing something, maybe he's talking about something else.

No, he's showing, the kick ass torque curve, and gain vs stock.

Hp/litre is most useless number on the planet. *
An ant can carry 5x it's weight, doesn't mean I still can't crush it with my foot.

In the states we don't care about HP/litre on the street. It does nothing for performance other than to try and save face when your losing. It doesn't mean the engine is more fuel effecient, or lighter, or more powerful, or has a better torque curve (it seems to me the higher the hp/litre the worse the torque curve gets, look at a 1khp supra vs a 1khp Chevy v8 ).

* unless your taxes based on displacement.

That's a pretty awesome analogy.

You're right, of course, speed is the only thing that matters in the end. But when it comes to the business of boasting of your tuning ability and showing figures, it's more like, sticking with bizarre analogies, a body builder boasting that he can lift my TV. Yeah, and?

you do know that the LS7 is physically smaller and lighter than most DOHC inline 6 & V6 engines found in many premium sports cars right?

Oh no. Not again.
Every thread that deals with something about an american car, ANY AMERICAN CAR, ends up being about bhp/liter, leaf springs and how the pushrod engine is the best thing "in the world", besides the rotary engine.

You need to pay more attention :) I'm not talking about the corvette, i'm talking about a 'tuner'. I'd have said the same if he had boasted about making 88.5bhp out of a 1litre Micra.

To clear things up i have an admiration for the vette's motor. I'm talking about that guy, not the car or the engine.

All i'm saying is he's not impressive, but I digress.
Paddle shifters.
How about them, huh?

Just popping in to say I think the 'Vette 6-speed is the new 6L80 transmission from GM. It should be a very capable and responsive transmission- as long as it's one of those that isn't flawed, which from personal experience is not unlikely.

Regardless of the hp/litre, what might be simple mods (the companies "special mods" don't exactly explain much) brought a 505hp flywheel hp car to 620wheel hp.

I don't see a whole lot of street SBC/SBF motors that make much more than 90hp/litre without forced induction. Most people I know that build 'em don't care to push a street motor much above 6k in revs. Race motors on the other hand...

Some technical photos and the like.

i'd buy it without the body

I vow to myself never to make a topic about the Corvette again. I mean the first time I made a Corvette topic, it blew up in my face.

I hate people who attack it's primitiveness. It's still a great car. It's speed around a track is comparable to any car with 'superior' technology. It's raw simplicity give the car it character. Sure you can argue about how leaf springs were used in old horse carriages and whatnot, but you cannot deny the fact that it's fast.
