I know I'm on the internet now, but my laptop isn't and that's the problem.
It just stopped working about 24 hrs ago, I didn't touch anything I just refreshed the page :?
I have checked for any virus and stuff like that.
I have a router that's connected to a wireless gateway.
I have tried resetting both of them, didn't help
This computer is connected to the gateway just as the laptop.
I have tried both normal LAN and wireless, nothing works.
I have also tried both with IE and firefox incase there were something with that.

Anybody have any suggestions, I have run out of ideas :(

The router itself is connected to the Inet via Wireless? Or you connect to it wireless?

Is it DSL? Call your ISP, maybe something is wrong with the line...
My modem sometimes freaks a bit as well. Disconnect it from the power for a couple of minutes...

Some laptops have switches that enable you to turn wireless on or off...check that ;)

It's DSL.
It goes line in-->router-->wireless-->computers
I can connect to the wireless so the card is working, and this computer is connected via LAN to the wireless.

So you have only problems connecting your Wireless card to the wireless router?

Try to run the network assistent again. Did you secure your W-lan with the encryption? Maybe somebody did a bit of wardriving (W-lan hacking) and played you a joke...

It's both the lan and the wireless that doesn't work.
The wireless is encrypted.

Maybe your router only allows your desktop computer to connect, check that security feature. Most routers have control panels.

Does that change without me doing anything?

I may have found out something, there were a trojan wanting access to the internet but the firewall stopped it, but now I have to find the trojan, the virusscanner can't find anything cause I can't update the definitions.
Anybody got a removal tool for a trojan called Bla?

Looks like you guys have things under control. I would have set up a static IP address on your wired connection and see if it works. Might be just the DHCP on the router acting up. Turning that option off and on might of helped as well. Let us know how you get along with this.

The thing is that his other PC works so IP is fine.

Thanks for all the help guys, now it works  but I didn't do anything  I think it's time for a reinstall :?

Ahh...the joys of technology. Fixes itself.

And actually I have had a problem when one computer would never pick up a DHCP address while the other ones did. Static IP helped it. So :p :lmao:
