Is anyone else running XP Pro having trouble installing version 6? I can't get mine to install properly...it says:

I tried looking into that error code in the top, right, but it bring back anything. I looked at the FAQ and reset my IE settings and that didn't work, any ideas? :(

Works here. Hasn't it been v6 for a while, but they just changed the interface a little?

Less than a month, I was there not too long ago on someone elses, it was still version 5.
I think they did it cause they released those three big patches Tuesday, which I still haven't gotten :|

Works just fine for me. Can't you just enable auto-update and let it do the job ?

Are you using Firefox to view it? They enabled some dumb feature that requires you use IE to view the update site.

Nope, IE. I can enable auto update, I have set to check but not to download until I say. I guess I can try the fully automated thing, but I don't want it to update and then I'm in the middle of something, and have to restart.

You don't have to restart. At the end It asks you if you want to and you can choose no.

Auto-update is evil...

I had a similar problem and it turned out that a couple services had to be turned on. I turned them on and it worked. I think Help and Support has to be on, as well as Automatic Update Service, but it doesn't have to be running, just on manual I believe. BITS services also has to be on. Make sure they are all ticked to automatic setting. Go start>run and type in "services.msc" without the quotes and do it there. If that don't work, then hit google up.

I try that, because I turned off LOTS of services I didn't need :p
And yes I knew what they were for, but I just forgot

Hope this works...

Nope, nothin' <_<

Thanks for trying tho :)

I dunno if this is the reason but it could be cos u hav a cracked version of XP perhaps...i had a cracked version of XP Pro and Windows Update refussed to install SP2 due to it being illegal. I ended up installing a diffrent cracked XP Pro that allowed me to

No, I'm able to install SP2, well it was integrated, it's just this new version of their update site, it won't let me install that version 6. Because I've updated before, like a month ago. :?

I think i remember that one, I got it when I had messed around with my firewall, so now I have to disable it when I want to update.

Well, the updates installed with AutoUpdate set to download, but not install till I say so. I guess I do a reformat later, after I slipstream XP. Thanks guys, and girl :)
I'll try fiddling with my firewall and see if mgkdk's suggestion works too. :D
