Wordle

Might forget to do it later so doing Saturday's now before I go to bed. I was lucky with this as it only took a few minutes, there's definitely a trick to choosing the first word.

For the first guess, I always use the Wheel of Fortune tactic and enter a word consisting of some of the most common letters, obviously.

Today's word was totally unknown to me before, which made it a tad difficult. :D
 
Yeah to be fair I always use the same starting words containing 3 vowels, so I have those taken care of asap. May optimize a bit more towards Common letters… but I feel that’s getting a bit too anal about such a simple thing as this :D

yeah I can imagine that‘d suck! Sure at some point you end up in a position where you can just try whatever seems pronounceable… but still…

I caved and started doing them a couple of weeks ago I think. I tend to play by "Hard mode" rules but I never bothered to tick "Hard mode". I'm not really sure why that makes it harder.

Tried Wördl and wordle.at, but for some reason my brain refuses to think in German when doing this :D

And yeah, I'm basically playing by the "hard" rules anyway, should probably check the box.

Me neither, I feel like using the letters you have is necessary. It might take longer to think of a word but I'm fine with that.

If you're not limited by the rule, you can always "sacrifice" a guess by using a word you know doesn't match (e.g. not fitting one or more "green" matches you already have) just to rule out more "open" letters. I've done that a couple times on the very first ones I played. But in doing that you know the guess cannot be right, so it does feel "wrong" to play that way I guess :)

Chose poorly with my first word on this one. Though with the second guess I was able to rule out it starting with the letter I did get. Third guess really narrowed it down.
