Black Bean has now made if official that Milestone is currently working on WRC. We are only shown one image for now but the press release is full of promises we certainly hope will be kept when the game is released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC next Fall.

Press Release:
London, 3rd February 2010 ? Leading videogames publisher, Black Bean Games, announced today the first features of the official WRC videogame at the official WRC Season Launch in Paris. WRC is scheduled for release around the world in Autumn 2010 on PlayStation?3, Xbox360? videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft? and PC formats. It is currently under development at Milestone, Black Bean?s Milan-based in-house production studio, which has specialised in the motorsports simulation genre since 1996.

The main goal of the game is to bring the action of the World Rally Championship to the living rooms of both rallying and gaming fans. As a first step toward this goal, Black Bean is proud to deliver an overview of the main game features:

? The World of WRC. The official locations, the official cars, the official drivers and co-drivers. Everything is designed to give the player the sensation of taking part in the real championship as they race against their heroes.
? Huge career mode creates ultimate satisfaction when the player wins the championship after a long and challenging road to the top!
? Unique offline and online game modes
? 13 different locations around the world
? Realistic physics model
? Advanced car tuning that allows players to find the best settings for every single stage
? Breathtaking graphics for drivers, co-drivers, cars, tracks and environments
? Visually stunning car damage effects
? Full 3D cockpit and dashboards
? Much more to come?

This is just the beginning. Fans will soon be able to discover the full range of features. This new, exciting game promises to deliver all this and more, offering the most realistic virtual rallying experience ever.

Sadly I?m not expecting it to be any good (Same Studio than SBK 2009 and V8 Superstars) <_<

well it sounded good at first until i heard the games producer behind it. They'll really have to produce something good here in order for me to consider getting it.

Richard Burns Rally is still the only proper rally game for me, but I haven't paid much attention the last few years.

Same :(

Yes, but unfortunately it's really showing it's age compared to newer games.

Why can't somebody combine RBR and Rally Championship 2000? That would be the ultimate rally game.

or richard burns rally w/ updated physics and the graphics engine of DiRT 2 or Shift...

They already had 3 games that were official WRC, I have 2 of them on PS2. How can they just start over again? There aren't enough rally games any more though so I'm interested.

QFT! Those are two of my favorites.

Those aren't realistic physics

I think he was saying just take the graphics from DiRT 2, but keep the RBR physics, but just update them a bit.

My first rally game , that was quite a game ...

Man that's so comical to see that again after all these years.

Those graphics are so REALISTIC!!!!!

Well, supposedly this game will allow you to race against the pro's times, so it can't be THAT unrealistic (like, say, Dirt).

But it is coming for the consoles, so it won't be hyper realistic either. It'll probably be a Forza-level simulator.

I'd definitely consider getting it unless it looks really crappy. One thing I'd love to see is the actual rally stages, rather then some thing that hints at being a rally stage but not actually it. Maybe not all of them, but some of the big ones that everybody knows about and such. I'd take a realism look with it, rather then the zoomy effect and sepia tone BS that Dirt did too.

JH

Rally Championship has a lot of things missing from new games (like setting up the car, viewing the track in advance) because the console players of today have shown to be retards.

I want Warthog to get off their LEGO-asses and do a new racing game.

now THAT would be a great rally game.

i'll remain optimistic about this upcoming game though. if they do follow through with full real world stages could be fun.

A WRC game is better than no WRC game. And if they get ACTUAL stages...all the better.

As for milestone's work in the sbk series... at least we know they can make something at least a little bit more realistic than what the moto gp series is now. But in their defense... I certainly think it has gotten a bit better than what the THQ series had started to become.

Also...they did Superbike 2001...which is arguably the 2nd best motorcycle game. ever.

Looks like they're going to have real stages.
