Wrecked the Volvo

Well i had just finished washing my moms volvo on wednesday and she asked me to return a video for her. So i went and returned the vid, then on my way home disaster struck. I was turning left onto a side street and there was a large truck turning the other way blocking my view. I stopped, then slowly crept out and couldn't see anyone coming, then i went. Bam some guy in a ford probe t-boned me. He had just come off the freeway and was probably doing 70-80km/h and it looks like he was in the same lane as the truck, but merged over. So the Volvo is probably totalled and I am at fault for the accident, as i "failed to complete a turn safely" so now i have a $115 fine and am going to get raped by the insurance companies for the next 6 years. The only hope of getting out of some of the rapage would be to get someone to testify that the probe was speeding/driving erratically, which is highly unlikely that i will be able to get someone to do that. So im SOL for now. ugh. :thumbsdown: :(

Otherwise my condolances for your (mom's) Volvo - and your wallet? What kind of Volvo was it, and nobody hurt I suppose?

April Fool's day is April 1st over here in North America...so I doubt it.... :(
 
No I don't think it's an April fool's joke. He told us about it yesterday or the day before that. Anyways sorry to hear about that. I hope people don't joke about crashes.

I hope you are ok. High speed accidents suck, especially from a T-bone.
 
I wish it was an aprils fool.

The volvo was a 1998 v70. Still driveable, although the entire passengers side b-pillar and doors are pushed in about 6".

The insurance company is making me go to a doctor tomorrow to make sure i am not injured in any way. fun :thumbsdown:

LOL, just realised you guys are still at 31st March... I'm in Norway where it's GMT+1, so we're a couple of hours in 1st of April already. The forum shows my own date... also for other posts.

So... too bad, then! Glad/hope you're ok.

That sucks. Something out of your control and you get the blame. Blows the big one.
 
Well, at least you were safe in a Volvo. It could have been much worse. Anyway good luck with your insurance company.

that sucks dude, sorry about that.... at least you were in a volvo and it saved your life... so do you appreciate volvo's now? :mrgreen:

I can feel with you to some extent, I also had a little accident with my mother's Golf one day. The damage was "only" about 900$ but what I did was pretty dumb...
I was waiting in the drive-thru at McDonalds and got kinda bored. Then I decided to try to operate the clutch with my right foot - it's a diesel so you don't need to push the accelerator. I have to tell you, there's no feeling in your right foot do such a thing! (e.g. try braking with your left foot, doens't work either) The car took off and I crashed into the Ford KA in front of me. :roll:

I guess I don't get any condolences for that! :D

how true

except in sask and BC. I love public insurance. with my accident it would cost me $960/yr in sask with full collision and liability. thats half of what my friends pay for just liability here in alberta
