New to these forums. Need to get my fifth gear and top gear fix :)

All these american car shows are pathetic. They test the cars in the same fashion, around the cones, brake test and 1/4 mile...over some cheesy music. I guess they are more into trying to help some car manufacturers sell cars (they run like commericials and hold no entertainment value)....

what are u talking about? Those shows rock!!!

No just kidding......but what shows are you talking about?

Well, specifically motorweek. Tiff and Clarkson aren't afraid to say negative things about the cars they review, you don't really hear much of that on motorweek.

It's actually quite surprising. Most american shows etc. are very flashy...compared to certain british programming which carries a more dull look (even though they are entertaining)....but the opposite goes for the car shows, the american ones seem dull whereas the british ones are much more poignant

welcome to the board :welcome:

i have to agree that most american automotive shows are rather bland. for example, there's a car magazine/show called "Car & Driver." while they sometimes have an interesting coverage, most of the time, it's just not that exciting. it's not much different from someone reciting their counterpart magazine articles. it doesn't make you want to look for its airing schedule, and sit down and watch it. as for myself, i almost always end up watching them whenever i have nothing else to watch. :|
