Curious while this year sucked if there was anything you photographed this year that you're proud of?

I didn't take much, but this is from back in April, nicest photo other than pictures of my dog. :)

Since my only camera this year was my phone, I have a few photos that look good on phone and Instagram, but not on computer screen, including a picture of the NEOWISE comet.

I guess this is my favourite: I played a lot with my phone's dedicated monochrome camera sensor, and I like playing with perspective, so tops of buildings in black and white are a reoccurring theme in my shots. I have a grainy and moody night photo of an old factory building that I'd pick for my favourite, but it looks shite on computer screen. Therefore, I decided to post this, which is a day photo of an old church taken from pretty much the same angle as that photo:

Sorry that it's vertical, it was taken for Instagram.

A runner-up would be another vertical photo for Instagram, but this time in colour. If it weren't slightly tilted, it'd be my top pick, and since I don't have any photo manipulation program installed on my new SSD, have the original:

Monochrome "no entry"-signs too, it seems :dunno:

Managed to get in two short trips this year before the world went into hibernation. Travelled to Tasmania for work, and added a few days either side of the few hours work, to explore more of the island.

And it looks like I spoke too soon. This was taken just minutes ago. When I saw this morning's sky, I knew I had to take a picture of it. What I did not know is that I'd take my favourite photo of 2020. Here it is:

View attachment 3559683

I'll have to take a look, but I can remember waking up between 4:30A and 5ish one day in Stuttgart. That's not really that exciting, but what was, was the sun that hadn't rose yet and was lighting the sky nicely while still able to see the wind turbine lights and radio tower on a hill while the city was dimly lit by mostly the street lights. Then a freight train went by that the rhythmic noise was just right.

So, I really enjoy these quiet city-scape shots that gives off a sort of peace.

I quite enjoy these sunrise and sunset pictures, as cliché as they can be, so I'd love to see your shot as well!

Not quite as good as far as lighting goes. Taken a little later than I remember too, ah well.
