There hasn't been a ultimate garage or dream garage thread lately, so I thought I'd start one.

Restrictions:

Choose a maximum of 5 vehicles.

Under 75HP when new.

Steering wheel, not handlebars.

Three wheels plus.

No one-offs.

No price limits.

I'd start with the Suzuki Cappuccino, 3 cylinder, turbocharged roadster. 63hp.

Then the classy but horribly underpowered Panhard Dyna Z. 60hp max.

Then a Old Fiat 500 Abarth.

A Vespa 400 Microcar. 14hp.

And I'd finish off with a Citroen 2CV or one of its variants, the Mehari or Ami.

Great spin on an old thread!

I'd start it off with a Fiat 500

I'd probably ad a Split Window Beetle

And an Old Ford Model A

Maybe a 2CV or a honda Z-Act

Metro XFi: 49 HP, 55 MPG, lightweight so it should be super fun to drive

Wow, nice twist on the old idea.

Tough one though. I don't know very many cars with under 75bhp that would rock my boat in any way or form. But with the help of public, my trusty source of random car-trivia, here's a few that I'd love to own:

Peugeot 205 XS 1.3l

Sporty seats and that quirky French attitude, with absolutely no horsepowers. Can't help but love it.

Toyota Aygo 1.0l

Dunno what the 3-pot banger chucks out, but this is a rare example of a modern car I wouldn't hate to own.

Mercedes-Benz W201 190D

Kinda cheating here, but I need a mint W201. And if a horrible diesel engine is what's needed to get it to qualify for this garage, so be it.

"In typical Honda fashion, the Beat's engine did not utilize a turbocharger or supercharger. The 656 cc (40.0 cu in) engine was modified with the MTREC (Multi Throttle Responsive Engine Control) system, with individual throttle bodies for each of the three cylinders, to produce 64 PS (63 bhp) at 8100 rpm"

There is absolutely nothing I want in this class.

if you want small car, go japanese..
Already posted but for small, twisty b-roads.. should be epic.

Then for wafting in cities or relaxing drives in country lanes. (i already own one)

This was properly quick from 0-30mph, so for a city car.. would love to own.. 3pot sounds quirky enough.

And for a modern car:
Toyota-iQ-1.jpg

Willys 463 "Jeep" station wagon

Nash Metropolitan series III

Autozam AZ-1

Daihatsu Midget MP5

Volkswagen (Type 181) Thing

Honorable mention to the Messerschmitt Kabinenroller which would have edged out the Thing if not for the 'no handlebars' rule.

Triumph Dolomite 1300SE, there were three factory prototypes, one survives. - 58bhp

(I know it's supposed to be no one-offs but I could build my own. It's a parts bin special, just metallic paint all the optional extras as standard, and wheels and trim from the 1500SE.) :p

Toyota Corolla E20 Coupe, handsome Jap coupe with a 1200cc engine. - 67bhp

DAF 66 Marathon Coupe, weird Dutch thing with a constantly variable gearbox. - 60bhp

Reliant Regal, made of plastic, not enough wheels and a tendency to set on fire at a worrying pace. What's not to like? - 25bhp

Austin 7 Open Road Tourer, roofless Austin 7 with the "modernised" styling built in the mid 30s. - 23bhp

You could have 17 and still be under the 75hp limit. Imagine that, a centi-peel-d. :|

Goes without saying that I'd have one of these in my garage (70hp):

Thinking of more.
