You're reading this expecting it to be some type of beautiful incarnation of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano as I did. However those who speak Italian know Fuoristrada means "Cross country vehicle".....

Please turn away as Enzo Ferrari turns in his grave.

Lamborghini already had an SUV for sale more than 25 years ago and today Porsche's Cayenne is a global success. Ferrari hesitated for a long time but has now decided to develop the world's fastest SUV, or so says our Italian contact with insider info. Our DTP expert than set to work with this information and produced the following renderings. The project has been coded the "Ferrari FS 599 Fuoristrada" and its supposed world debut target date is the Geneva Auto Show 2010.

While the five-door will feature four-wheel drive its off-road capabilities are not among the top priorities of the Ferrari development team. Two-thirds of the engine's power is rumored to be transferred to the wide 22-inch high-performance street tires in the rear.

The engine is familiar and hails from the Ferrari F599 Fiorano, albeit in slightly modified form. Its maximum power output of more than 600 hp and 600 Nm of torque will be a challenge for the size 315 tires front and back.

Despite an empty weight of around 2.2 tons the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is supposed to take less than five seconds, thanks to Formula 1-type shift paddles on the steering wheel. Targeted top speed is 300 km/h.

With a top speed such as this the Ferrari FS 599 Fuoristrada would easily eclipse the performance of a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, just as easily as it would eclipse its price at projected 250,000 Euros plus.

I'm not going to comment on the renders, as even though they are ugly as hell, they don't look at all like the real thing when it comes out.

As for the story:

OH DEAR GOD, NO!!!

The prefect vehicle for driving to the shops and bringing home a few boxes of Michael Schumacher ice cream! :p

They've somehow managed to make a vehicle uglier than the Cayenne. No Ferrari. For the love of all that's good in this world, just say no.

"What the fuck" is what I said out loud when view those sacrilege images. First Porsche, now Ferrari. I hate this world, and it's obsession with SUV's. No doubt this is for the American market, thus proving yet another stereotype.

Thankfully, the price is out of reach of any Cayenne lovers. And speaking of that Porsche turd, anyone who owns one are a disgrace to the automotive community. And I have told individuals as such. Nearly got my ass beat for it.

But I have my principles and passions....

I find it funny that it's as quick to 60mph as a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and looks 599x worse.

What a load of balls. I want proof

looks like its photoshoped.

If this ever happens I owe someone a coke, but honstly it's the stupidest thing Ferrari could ever do.

Thank god it won't happen.

Its horrible, but in a way, it makes me laugh, because now Ferrari diehard fans can no longer wave their e-penises around saying Ferrari is the last true sports car company that would never produce a sellout vehicle like an SUV.

any one fan group that gets too arrogant deserves to be taken down a notch.

Those renders are horrid, although if it's anything like the Cayenne for Porsche, ferrari is going to have surplus $$$$

Actually, I really like it. I hope they definitely build it!

Setting the trap...hmm, let's see how long it is before the flames start shooting out from my monitor. teehee.

P.S. it's not real, so watch where you throw that hissy fit.
