Can you help me name the film

Hi guys,
I won't take up much of your time with this query...

There was a film that was out in the 80's about a girl who had an 'out of body' experience when she slept & met a 'lover' who had the same experience as she did. I think she then spent the days trying to find this guy as they were real lovers as they slept....if you know what I mean.

I think the band 'Heart' did a track called 'These Dreams' for the film.

I have tried IMDB with various slants on souls & out-of-body stuff but I couldn't get any hits.

If ANYONE knows just the name of this film please tell me :eek:

I will conclude by saying I have never seen this film but now & again the ads on TV for it, which was back in the 80's sometimes, flash through my mind & I just can't let it rest anymore.

PLEASE PLEASE if you know the films name then let me know. That's all.
 
Do you know anymore details? By the looks of it that song wasn't in it, as its not listed in the soundtracks directory to that plotline.

Thanks for the replies. I guess it is/was a chick flick. One I never saw mind you but it was way back in the 80's from my brief recollection & seeing it advertised on TV.

If there are any 'not a dude' members here that are as as old as me then maybe they may have seen this film back in the 80's & maybe...just maybe it'll light a little spark in the old grey cells.


To recap:

A girl with a normal life 'one day' goes to sleep & 'awakens' in 'another place' where she meets a bloke with the same gift as her ie: he sleeps & 'awakens' there too & they become TRUE soulmates & lovers too.....as they meet when both are asleep & carry on an affair. The affair only happens while they sleep. In normal life neither has any idea who the other one is in reality as they have never actually met. But both long for sleep that night so they can meet & make love again....:|

I'm sure they would have actually like to meet in person but as I never saw the file I don't know...but they must have done....like Tom & Meg in 'Sleepless in Seattle' in 1993.

The band 'Heart' did the title track 'These Dreams'.. I'm sure of it!

Please if you know, have seen, or know of someone who has seen this type of film then please let me know.

Is it "The Science of Sleep?"

Give me some more key terms about the film - what does the girl do? Is the setting of the film named? Can you tell me even ONE person who acted in it?

This would help greatly.

I guess I'm beat!

I've been feverishly searching the search engines using terms like 'sleep' 'out of body' 'lovers' & all of them together etc etc but I just get the usual drivel ie: nothing.

It's just one of those things that NOW has rooted itself firmly in the back of my mind. I have never seen it & I guess I never will....even if I did get a name it probably wouldn't be available on VHS...never mind DVD!

However I'm not giving up just yet! I'm gonna keep looking. I'm not obsessed by this but I would like to try and find a definative a review on it somewhere. The IMDB search engine is useless for this. It'll only show you what you put in to search...which kinda goes against what a search engine is supposed to do....ya know find the obscure SOMEWHERE!

Anyways, this won't stop the world spinning but if you guys could search along with me using the details I have given then MAYBE we could find this film.....

It's probably a BIG maybe.

I've researched it through the song, and I've got nothing. I've perused some pretty damn definitive lists of Heart music usage, and no (known) movies used that particular song.

...in all honesty, your movie's description sounds like softcore porn. :lol:
