Fifth Gear ready for live 'Dogfight'
13 January 2010

Presents of the United Kingdom's Fifth Gear television show are revving up for a live version of their 'Dogfight' feature at the Autosport International show this weekend. Set at Birmingham's NEC, once Formula 1 driver Tiff Needell will go head-to-head with Vicki Butler-Henderson and 2001 British Touring Car Champion Jason Plato.

With the 'Dogfight' being a popular feature of the Five show, this weekend will mark the first time the segment has been conducted in front of a live audience, with a crowd of 4,700 onlookers expected.

"The whole Fifth Gear production team wanted to be racing drivers when they grew up," said James Woodroffe, Executive Producer for the programme. "To have an entire exhibition dedicated to practically every form of motorsport is heaven to us. We can't wait to be part of the Live Action Arena - the presenters have already started betting on who can drive the most sideways!"

"The Fifth Gear programme is very popular and this 'Dogfight' will be a great addition to what is already a fun-packed Live Action Arena event," added Ian France, Director of the Autosport International show. "The audience will be given a show to remember, not just from the Fifth Gear team, but from the other competitors too."
