Oklahoma Now Closed - Yes, the entire state!

QFT.

Even if I had a lot of experience driving in snow, I'd still want to stay at home here.

Wacoans are awful enough in perfect weather. Add even rain (much less snow!) to that and it's a royal mess.
I'm not saying people who don't go out are idiots. They're the smart ones . But all these dumbass suburbanites are driving around like it's 65 and sunny, yapping on their phones ... and careening off the roads. It's just pathetic.

Also, I have a cousin who lives in Waco. She crashed her truck in the rain one time and blamed a combination of wet roads and gravel. :lmao:

^^^ We get that here as well, generally folks who think AWD solves all problems. Idiots are universal.

Heck, they are hilarious from a Wisconsin POV.

I was born in New Hampshire, lived in Indiana in grad school, and my parents owned a house in Colorado and now Utah; this storm is just differen than many I have encountered. This was several hours of sleet followed by a blizzard.

Saskatchewan last May, in other words.

I was born on the peak of Mount Baker in Washington, all your winter related stories suffer from bitchassness in comparison, I'm part wolf and can survive in the wild for months eating only snow and my own flesh.

It's the largest county in Texas...
It's where the Texasns put all the crap they didn't want, hence:
It's where they put the casinos so we don't have to have them in Texas. :p
And *Cue stereotypical Texan joke about inbreed rednecks and trailer parks...

On a different note; How can they close the entire state?

They just close down the interstates, mostly because the highway patrol would not be able to reach anybody if there was an emergency.

I think I want need that shirt in Baylor colors.

(...because we're no good at that football thing.)

Dude! Right before lunch?! :puke:

You were warned. I take no responsibility. :p

I lived in Oklahoma for the first 19 years of my life. I don't remember a snow storm ever closing down the state. Have people gotten soft and stupid?

Could be worse. Seattle closed down completely last year after receiving much less. It didn't help that they banned the use of grit for environmental reasons.
