The 2008 Cadillac CTS

dathrilla :

are you not gonna consider any European cars?

I've considered every car possible in my price range. At the end, it was between the C6 Corvette or the CTS

Audi's are too expensive and BMW's are too played out...Don't get me wrong, If iI had the money, I would definitely rock an M5!

Inifniti just came out and I would have to wait till december for the first European delivery.

So when I think about it, the CTS seems like a really good deal. Oh, and do you guys know it had a new 6 year warranty? I'll only have to pay for oil...everything else is covered.

And brakes.

You've made a good choice, except I'd get the V.
Or perhaps a 2009.

At my local Caddy dealer where we got our Excessivealade, there is an '05 CTSV that has been sitting there since delivery. NO ONE has wanted it, mostly because it's a stick and the people looking for cars in the CTS range want an auto, but also because it snows bad here and that thing would be terrible in the snow. The car has sat there for 3 YEARS and they just can't sell it. When I was looking for my R, I went there to talk to our close friend to get his advice, he said they've taken $7,000 off THEIR basis price and they still can't get rid of it.

Seriously it is a steal if someone wants it. I told him to list it on Cars.com, autotrader, or even some V fanboards and it'll sell in a second.

Matter of fact here's the car^. He said they still have the price in the $40s because there are literally 5000 miles on it, but (and this is the part he lowered his voice for) he said "We can't even get this thing off the lot for $33,000."

This would be one of those rare instances where the customer really would control the transaction, because they just want to be rid of it.

Oh God...I'd be all over that CTS-V in a second. Pains me to see it let go for that relatively, little, almost as much as it pains me that I don't have any money at all.

Wow, bargain of the century, absolute steal! I'd go it.

In this segment, reason says I should get an Infiniti G35X or a Subaru Legacy...

but I'm finding myself stangely attracted to the new Cadillac CTS4 (AWD).

It's finally a good looking car, it's less of an obvious choice, it was in Matrix reloaded, unlike its german rivals, parts and labour will be cheap.

Around here, pensioners will have plenty and they will be cheap.

And would you *look* at that interior.

I reckon it's a pretty cool car!

HOWEVER, ive been thinking a bit lately and what makes me hesitate is that you can rent one cheap anytime at a north american rent-a-car. Knowing anybody can have a go in it turns me off.

Why? The Cadillac is a reasonable choice from most accounts.

Some good photos of the CTS4:

Interestingly enough, I would've chosen the C6.
In fact, I did.

That the CTS doesn't come with a V8 in the non-V models is blasphemy.
