war on terror on israel

Nasralla just told Lebanese in Beirut to look out towards the Israeli warship, that it's going to be or is on fire and that it will sink, something like that. I don't know if he's just pulling off another Iraqi Information Minister trick, or he's serious. I hope it's the first, this would be an INSANE escalation.

EDIT: This coverage reminds of Iraq. There's alot of anti-aircraft firing, couple of explosions, lots of fireworks, lots of gunfire in the air. Israel just said that HA are trying to hit the warships with missiles. Nasralla also said his targets are way after Haifa.

Israel never expected HA to have the ability to hit the warships, even if the warships were only 10mi away. Al-Jazeera mentioned something about surface-to-sea technology, but I didn't catch too much of that conversation.
 
So 2 soldiers lifes are worth more then over 70 civilians?

Situation looks very gloomy. Israeli side is not very smart one, no negotiations with anyone.

What can destroy certains islamic miltary groups? PEACE

If things are good, no war, good economy, support of groups like Hamas goes down like titanic. War only increases support.

Now lets not forget that Iraq is already unstable, missile attack against Iran's nuclear program is just matter of time. That could trigger war between Iran and Israel through Syria. And that would trigger all nearby nutcases that have not killed themself yet in Iraq.

And if local superpower Israel has gone insane, look who's commanding global superpower, the USA. oh dear, no help from there until they get new president.

Sad really how much some want to have war in Middle East. But maybe mistrust and hate is so deep that there just needs to be big war to clean-up the map.

they have taken the position that, hesbalah (and hummas) are being supported by iran/syria, and as such, the war on terror (because they are so richious) can now move to the targets they feel next need to be remoevd. (becasue they have all the oil, and how dare they!) *american sources claimed the rocket that hit the ship was made in and supplied by iran. (is an example)

that america supporting israel, who in turn is declaring war on iran/sryia (in not as many words) will justify america's impending invasion of iran, because, they were only helping out a friend.

the new "wepons of mass distruction" arguement.

with friends like america. who needs the UN!

*my belief. america is to scared to attack iran outright, because they know iran has nukes, and are not affraid to use them.

also, isreal has wepons of mass distruction and a way to excited trigger finger, maybe someone needs to remove these wepons of mass distruction from such a dangerous country with such disregard for international law, or sovrigne land rights?

Chirac is the last guy anyone needs to be following. I think that Israel gave them plenty of chances to do this without violence, and the Government just kept saying "we have no control over these guys, we cannot help you."

I also think the Lebanese Government has taken a very cowardly approach to this and Israel is teachning some very painful lesson at the moment. Oh yeah, and I think that when this is over it will be labeled as the beginning (combined with the US action in Iraq) as the beginning of World War 3. I hope you guys are prepared for a very, very long and ugly fight.

Lebanon has never had a real army under control of the government, until last year Syria has basically controlled Lebanon and supported the Hezbollah. Israel should take them down, but not the whole Lebanon in the process. I accept that in every war there is collateral damage.
What I really hate though is the stupidity of the new israeli government, not even the minister of defence has had a proper military carrer, for Israel which is constantly at war that is a disgrace. :thumbsdown: This might actually explain these actions.

i think if they would've said that earlier, this whole situation would've been avoided. hizballah would be kicked out of lebanon, with help of NATO, israel and USA who are against hizballah, and lebanon would remain peaceful.
i totally agree with you about our government. if someone like bugi yaalon(former army commandor, was kicked because he didn't want to do the disengagement) was in charge of the army, or if sharon or even netanyahu(former prime minister) would've been PM, the situation would be much much better, for us and for them.

Yes you would be cynical... The US is staying out of this, we don't want Lebanon going under, because it was finally starting to resist being run by another nation, on it's own. Not everything that happens in the world can be blamed on the US.

But what the hell, everything bad that happens in this world is blamed on the US (whether we are involved or not), and all of the credit for good things goes to the Europeans (whether they were involved or not)...

And now I retire from this thread before I get flamed for not agreeing with everyone else.
