Most of her tattoos on the show are real. She's also not a poseur goth and she was well on her way to getting a degree in forensic science, before becoming an actress. Not much faked there.

It might be a bit obvious if you had one of these in your house in America though.
My grandparents had a similar one but one plug was actually real so you could plug something in and it looked even more realistic.
