The Aviation Thread [Contains Lots of Awesome Pictures]

what about the V-22 Osprey approach?

That's more of STOL plane than a helicopter, really.
And it brings its own bucket of problems and complications with it that still aren't really sorted out.

I'm more favorable of the Yak-141. Too bad it never entered production.

Good news is the newest Russian Gen-5 plane is gonna make first flight later this year, with 3 models being built at this very moment. Can't wait to see it.

The Folland Gnat was an awesome fighter-trainer. the original Red Arrows planes and later became the Indian Ajeet fighter, which gained a suprising reputation as a 'Sabre Slayer' against the Pakistani Air Force.

It's also a really pretty little jet.

Certainly one of my all-time favorite aircraft.

Anyone posted the BAE hawk yet?

I will never understand your fascination with the F5, Blind-io.

If Audrey Hepburn were a transformer, the F-5 is how she would look when she turns into a plane.

Holy crap! MiGs!!!

Only if you believe Top Gun is a documentary...:p

Now for another awesome aircraft picture:
