Autoblog: Big Mistake: No diesel Jeep for N. America

Another bad decision in the house of Jeep. All my old allegences are going down the toilet.

I went to the auto show today and spent some time talking to the Jeep "Product Specialist." She said that she has heard the same thing over and over from Jeep lovers - the motors SUCK!

Apparently I'm not the only one who mentioned the need for a diesel or a smaller V8 in the Wrangler.

Maybe they're just secretly working on an updated and even better version of the 4L I6.



I mean, we can hope, right?

They already unveiled that as a 4.7L crate motor. It won't go in any production vehicles.

Sick part is that IIRC Fiat has several 'clean' diesels they're thinking about bringing over that they could have put in the Wrangler.
