Car magazine has the 2007 Aston Martin DBS on the cover of its June issue. As previously reported, the DBS will have a staring role in the forthcoming James Bond film Casino Royale. We expect more images will surface in the near future, so we?ll keep you posted.

a DB9 with a bodykit ?
Of course the car looks great but they could make more design changes between their range.

As with all Aston Martin's, the design is stunning. But to me, thats just a DB9 with a sports bodykit to make it look more muscular and I can't see why its being marketed as a new model "DBS".

It will now be even harder for Aston customers to choose between a BD9, Vanquish , Vantage , rapide and this new DBS

Seen and heard about it a while back of course. :)

I wish theyd pick some other brand, Bond never drove exclusively Astons.

Also drove the Bentley in the first movie as well, iirc. The first Aston he drove was actually the DB3 (books), but the DB5 was brand new when the made the corresponding film.

As for the Mondeo being use, yes it will be used. Along with a Fiat Bulldozer. And besides, Ford owns AM, so convincing them to use the Mondeo might have been easier than we think. And I doubt he'd use the Mondeo for his main ride, maybe just a chase scene, methinks.

It looks really angry. I've always loved the DB9 but now THIS is MY kind of DB9.

Awesome.

True, but the DB5 is still the car that is the most memorable, and if someone says 'Bond, James Bond' to me,

A: I'd first be very worried that a man was trying to hit on me,
B: I'd immediately think 'Drives an Aston DB5, very, very cool'

It its not necessarily what is original or what has happened in the past that defines such personalities or things. It is what is memorable.

Ferrucio Lamborghini made tractors originally, but we don't normally associate him with tractors, because it is the Miura that was memorable.

Astons are James Bond's ride because they are British, Uber Sports, Probably a bit snobby, and because the DB5 was memorable. I don't care if Q gives 007 a Veyron in the next movie, his ride will still be an Aston. He'll 'just be borrowing' the Veyron. Think of it like Goldeneye, the DB5 was his personal ride, but he drove the Z3 for business.

Those wheels are disgusting. And those vents in the hood, and the sideskirts. Is it the guy from pimp my ride that issues his gadgets and cars now?

Lame.

That is all true i suppose. But when Bond drove the db5 for example, that car stood out for something really special and not just a sports car. Besides that, sports cars had more of an impact than today where you see one around the corner. Also Bond, the movie series, with Moore and Connery was special. The filmography, the acting, the simple yet very well balanced story. It was great, incredible really. It was new in a way.
Today on the other hand most movies are based on the same patheticly generic patterns that must apply to all generations, and all this crap just doesnt make Bond movies really stand out at all anymore. And having an Aston Martin, a cold british, i dont deny it, a beautiful british car, that is making cars like porsche with all of the versions looking alike , this does not help the movie. Im not sure what id have Bond drive, Id like to say Zonda but thats not very subtle really hehe, maybe a Maserati (with proper rear lights not those ugly american ones) and a Wiesmann for chase scenes or the Morgan aero 8... Whatever really, like the Z8, that was a good idea for example. Something more than just beautiful. Like with women, a beautiful woman does not make for a good time unless you are a horny 16 y old. There has to be more. I just dont feel anything more with this one. Its the same .
My opinion anyway.

I'm afraid I find it a little bit boring - I'm not saying that it isn't good looking, but Aston could've been a little bit more creative in designing it.

I read reports that he'd drive a Fiat Panda too...at this rate he won't be stopping any villains, he'll be too busy driving different cars!

Well, if they're driving an Evo VIII MR, starting from top gear, then he could easily out run them...untill that turbo kicked in...

Thinking about it.... I would have said the same thing about the V8 Vantage when it came out if I only had a shitty magazine scan to look at. Minus the "Sports body kit" line of course.

I think this is gonna look fantastic, can't wait to see more pics.
