Well the Mazda 3 uses the new platform that is much better.

Except that this is exactly the same one as the "old" Focus, only tweaked to make it a little more comfortable. And as of today, in Europe, the 3 cannot claim better road manners than the Focus. They're just... Similar. But the Focus still has the edge on the fun factor !

The Focus in the US must be completely different.
I drove a focus not too long ago (loaner car) and I thought it was quite bad.
- Interior was ... meh
- Driving position / seats were horrible, I can't imagine taking long trips with that.
- Not enough power, I had a hard time passing.
- I didn't push enough to find out about handling, but it the suspension seemed "boaty".

'Cuase you never said what version of the Focus. The fully spec'ed out one is pretty fast. True, no more Cosworth, but still. :)

As to have a Focus, I'd have an RS myself. Not on sale in the US, which is a pity.

The RS Cosworth is not on sale anywhere any more they've stopped making it.

The one with the cammer V8 looks cool though 8)

If I had the money to make one and import it to Europe I'd have the ultimate Stealth car over here (Apart from the noise I guess :) _
