A horribly late response to this, but they should put in something like the Fiat 0,9 l 2-cylinder twin-air engine (85 hp).
It is small, efficient and a suitably quirky solution to match the rest of the car. A 3-cylinder engine somehow seems like a less "elegant" choice.
