Guess that car game [advanced level]

Can you give us a hint? Is it just a concept or did it get produced?
 
Hint #1: The base model was produced in the early '90s; but this car has highly modified bodywork and interior so I reckon it fits in the concept category.

Hint #2: araracd guessed the origin country of this car; its design however is not british.

I realized it may have been too much to give away the exact years of production.
 
Another hint: this concepts' design is made by a famous Italian design firm.
 
Was it based on a sportscar/supercar, or a run-of-the-mill main manufacturer?
 
thats easy its the Jaguar XJ220 but the one that was styled by pininfarina
 
Yes, it's based on a supercar and bartboy9891 guesed it. It's the Jag XJ220 styled by Pininfarina for the Sultan of Brunei. Here it is:

I also think that's better looking than the original but unfortunately that was the only photo I could find. It's a pretty elusive sight...

That looks like a Maserati concept or a Chevy Camaro concept car.
