This kind of photos looks so apocalyptic... I snapped a similar one, not as good, obviously, but it captured a whole lot more snowfall with brighter sunlight. It's a few pages back. Couldn't get any trace of clouds in the photo.

Nice shot! Nothing wrong with shooting like that, I know for a fact that Moose Peterson always has his D3/600VR on a tripod beside his editing desk so he can shoot birds through his window without leaving his chair.
