Spot Them Beater Cars

At least the blue triangle on the bonnet does say that he might race it... that counts for something.

If you talk about the thing on the upper right corner of the bonnet, i hate to bust your bubble, it's one of these:

A fake air intake sticker.

R31 Skyline sedans mostly driven by old men like this one.

I don't know why I haven't posted in this thread before. I took these while randomly walking around a few months ago.

This was tucked away in an apartment parking lot.

I stumbled on these in what looked like it was a parking lot many years ago.

These were, rather fittingly, sitting outside a repair shop.

Simple math:

Old-school Celica + 5-speed + window louvers = win.

what was the use for those window louvers?

i never liked them tbh...

it looked cool, at the time. :D

My mum had black louvres on her '84 323 - which randomly flew off on the freeway at 110kph (well, that was the speed limit, I actually doubt it could manage that speed anymore by that time) a couple of years before she got rid of it. She retrieved the thing from the side of the road, drove home, dumped the louvres in the garage and never bothered trying to reattach them again.

I always thought they reduced glare or something off the rear window.

Remember the whole body is plastic, so it's not like it was strong to begin with.

First a badly kept Del Sol. I actually felt sorry for it, poor little thing in the hands of some hooligan motorcycle club.

A rugged looking Toyota Starlet. Looking at the fenders and seats I'd like to think it's used for amateur rallying, but since I don't see a rollcage inside I guess it's not. Then again, I bet it's a lot of fun if you leave the city and go looking for some nice gravel roads :)

And last but definitely not least, the mindfuck. I honestly just stared at this Volvo for a moment when I saw it. Then I laughed.

It's alive again, after hibernating 1,5 years in a shrubbery!
