EDIT: At this point, it's looking like the solution is to make an 18+ forum section which will be the only place where nudity (not porn) is allowed. This forum section would require joining a public usergroup to be able to view it.



Alok's thread got me thinking again about my no-nudity rule again and whether it should it exist or not.

Personally I don't really care one way or the other, although I am leaning a bit towards "is it really needed here?".

What are you thoughts on it?

Maybe an 18yo+ section that can be only accessed after you're approved by the admin?
 
I don't see a problem with it if the thread has NSFW tags..
 
True. But someone from the outside might complain. This way, if they don't have an account and aren't approved by the admin, they can't see it to complain.

A major pain in the ass to manually approve.

An alternative to that would be a forum section people could see but not view. To view it, you'd have to join a public usergroup and by joining it, you'd be agreeing that you were over the age of 18.

That's probably the solution I'll be going with to be honest.
 
Alok's photos were tastefully done. You obviously can't have people posting porn, but breasts never hurt anyone. :p

Yeah, I have no problem with tasteful boobs, but we need a finite line (or lack thereof) so there's no confusion.

I'm thinking an 18+ "anything goes" and join-a-group-to-view forum section would probably be the best solution.

There's nothing wrong with tastefully done pics so we can oggle their lucious rounded boobies and melt away between their smooth milky thighs, as sweat runs in rivulettes from their writhing, sensuous bodies... sorry, i forgot where i was going with that...

My suggestion would be, that we could have an NSFW tag, which works the same way as the spoiler tag except the guests cannot see it at all... I think the registed forum users know whether to click on one or not.
 
I think this forum would be significantly less entertaining without the threads that contain nudity. As long as said threads are NSFW-tagged (and probably spoilered) and keep it north of the equator, I don't see a problem.
 
There is no "need for nudity" on this forum just like there is no "need for sportscars" in society.
 
The best solution is to have a special section of the forums. Having it among other threads would kill the discussion :). It should be accessible only for 18+ users. AFAIK there are some 14 years old members, we have to protect them! And obviously porn should be not allowed.

Viper - don't worry, FG community has a good level of culture, especially comparing to other places on the Internet, so I don't expect any problems with 18+ section.
 
If the concern is minors seeing a boob (in which case GIS is their best friend), then just let registered users who have put their birthdays in see those thread. Put them in a restricted sub-forum or something. If the concern is pollution of the board, I don't really see that as being a problem. I don't want to see the board flooded with a bunch of hardcore porn or anything, but I don't see why artistic nude photos are a problem.

I know it's a fine line, but I think that most the members can walk it without incident. Those who can't are probably thick enough to cause trouble elsewhere on the boards. Maybe tie access to the "Members Only" section to how long one has been a member on the board.
