People around here think it?s hideous. I loved it.

I like very much the air intake in the front...overall i think it's cute.

Fiat Uno looks like the Duplo equivalent to the Fiat Panda's LEGO.

Don't they still sell the original Uno over there?

Assymetric = unsymetric = ugly.

Yes, they do. And it sells quite well, in fact, as the cheapest non-chinese car in the market. Most of the reasons for that, I believe, is that it's honest. It doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. It's got good internal space, good engine sufficient to carry the car around and drink almost anything in fuel. Of course, safety aside it hasn't evolved almost anything in the last 2 decades... and that's the main reason as to Fiat has developed a new one - in Brazil ABS and Airbag will be mandatory by 2014.

I like it. If the price keeps down I might consider it as a new car when I go home, in around 1.5 years time, I think.

What he said.
Also, it?s the perfect fleet car: cheap, low maintenance and takes all the abuse the workers can dish out.

Here's the now defunct car:

I like the new model, hope the new Panda comes like that to Europe.

Is it just me or does the new Panda shown in the first three pictures look like something from the late 90s?

Reminds me of my old Escort GT.

...I prefer the current Panda.

Then again I would as I'm looking into buying one...

i prefer the Original Uno, partly because it's only 8k brand new over here, partly because i can say i have a italian car.Like the styling too.

Ugly like an A-10 Warthog is beautiful, you mean. (And the A-10 is also asymmetrical)

The original Panda had an asymmetrical grille. It's nice that Fiat are giving a nod to the Panda's heritage.

Want.

I wouldnt call the A-10 "beautiful" but it is cool in all it's utilitarian glory, like your Nissan is asymetric for a reason I guess (what is in the thing on the left?) whereas the Fiat already has an air intake.

Beauty is i the eye of the beholder, I think the A-10 is a beautiful aircraft. It's a matter of form following function. That "thing" on the left is a storage spot for the First Aid Kit that comes with the car.

To me "utilitarian" is beautiful, not in the traditional sense, but in the purity of the design.
