The 'last' season of The Office starts 23rd September

Everybody on board must know it's a sinking ship, with only one season left until it's canned? It won't survive past season 8.

If the main guy quits, you quit.

What's the deal with the Scranton Strangler? I didn't think it was something they were going to continue with.

I thought that was Creeds house.
Michael being 'funny'? That's not Michael fucking Scott.

Fuck me, they're pummeling this show into the ground hard... that's what she said.

For a second I thought it was Creed's house too, but I came to my senses soon and realized it was Meredith's house. It was basically the house version of her beaten up Aerostar minivan.

Gah, she's such a gross whore. I love it.

No offense, but Will Ferrell really blows. I found the last dundies a bit dull to be honest.

I found the last season to be a bit dull, to be honest. A few funny moments, and I think there was a good episode a couple weeks ago, but the rest has been awful and forgettable. And Creed's absence is just baffling.

Probably just going to call it quits on the show now. I have a gut feeling the last episode for Steve will be overly sappy and cliche, and anything after that just isn't "the Office" to me. Perfectly fine though, Parks & Recreation is amazing now, and Community is usually pretty solid.

Damn, he's gone. That was a good episode, pretty emotional too.

I thought this was the season finale, I was surprised to hear the announcer say that wasn't the case.

The Oscar gift.
Rory Flenderson.
Creed still using the ladies.
Erin and Phyllis... really?

"Hey, will you gets ever let me know if this airs"

It was lacking, wasn't a proper goodbye.

EDIT: Found this, I agree. Linky

Ending the episode with will Ferrell being completely unfunny was a mistake. Last scene should have been him walking down the airport terminal.

Wasn't really impressed with anything, only good part was the airport scene, taking the mic off and his last TWSS - virtually silent.

I thought it was a proper goodbye in the sense that you could tell the emotions were real, at least for Steve Carrell.

The part where he was laughing his ass off about his lame gift to Oscar seemed so genuine, and so did all the times he teared up.

Oh, and my favourite line: "A little concealer on your Adam's Apple will make it appear smaller, which will make you look less like a transvestite."

felt it was lacking a proper sense of a goodbye too, but at the same time it wasn't your usual clich? goodbye episode. It was very much a goodbye in the Michael/Office sense though.

Have to say that Will Ferrell has been quite a disappointment in the office, he's too much of a distraction because it's Will Ferrell, and he was extremely unfunny in this episode.

Feel bad that there wasn't a true sense of goodbye to Michael. But as Shawn said all of the emotions seemed extremely real.

Can't believe that we'll not have another episode of The Office without Steve, just doesn't seem right. I'll finish the season and may give the next season a chance by watching a few episodes, no doubt it will be the final one. Would be good to have Michael come back for the final episode of the series though. Really sad he's gone.

What the hell was that? I didn't even laugh once.

I really don't get it, Michael was never the funniest aspect of this show for me but this most recent episode didn't even seem like a comedy at all. Not even a weak, unfunny comedy.

Ugh. I knew this was going to be my last season too. But this has to end now, NBC violated me.

I didn't even watch it, as far as I'm concerned The Office ended when Steve left. And by the sounds of it, I was right and made a good decision to stop watching. There's no way they can do a full season next year and have it be consistently funny. No way.

I'm going to give it the rest of the season... I'm really hoping they step it up, they can't all be this unfunny. Last night felt like the writers had actually gone out of their way to make the most serious and unfunny episode ever, almost like they didn't even want The Office to exist without Steve Carrell.

I'll just blame it all on Will Ferrell for lack of a better culprit... even characters who are usually so funny, like Kevin, were driving me crazy last night for being so off kilter.

Can we all agree The Office season 2-6?
Series 1 isn't terrible, but not a real series and the first episode is a knock-off.

Season 2 was just bliss.

I like all the seasons but season 2 was just perfect. Season 1 was short and they hadn't really found their sweet spots, and season 3 onwards they inevitably didn't feel as fresh.

Season 2 was so perfect... the Halloween episode, the original Christmas episode, the Bring Your Daughter To Work episode, the Casino Night episode... just the fact that I remember all these distincly being part of season 2 shows how much I enjoyed it.

Even though it isn't a full season, the first one is still pretty funny in my book. Alliance is great, Health Care has some great ad-lib diseases and Diversity Day has some decent stuff too.

I've been watching the show since Day 1 and the First 4 seasons were really solid, obviously with Season 2 being the best season ever. 4 is where they hit the brakes and the writer's strike didn't help the situation. I also think that's when they lost their main writers, Mike Schur and Greg Daniels, to Parks & Rec (which is by far the superior show right now, absolutely hilarious). So those two things nearly killed the show.

After that, it was moderately unfunny, Jim & Pam went from cute to annoying, and the writing got suspiciously bad starting shortly before Michael started his own paper company. Now it's just beating a dead horse.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

Don't forget Drug Testing, which is still my favorite Dwight episode. "It has to be official, and it has to be urine."

Or The Client. "Can we get an Awesome Blossom, extra awesome?"

Or Booze Cruise. Or Dwight's Speech. Or Michael's Birthday. Or The Injury, which might still be in my top 5 Office episodes. "You can't fire me, I don't work in this van!"

And the water spray bottle. Priceless.

Maybe I was just too tired (because at a certain stage everything's funny when you're tired) when I watched it but I thought it was much better than the last few "awww Michael's leaving soon :(" episodes and pretty funny. Whatever they're going to do with the [starburst] star power! [/starburst] cameos... uhh... yeah...

You guys are too serious, of course you're not going to laugh when you go in with sand pre-inserted into your panty bunches. Comedies are srs bsns, you must go in with super srs attitude if you expect to srsly laugh like a srs prson.

The last episode was pretty good actually, I knew they could be funny without Michael. The season finale should be interesting with Creed at the helm.
