Yeah my picture didn't show much but i thought with the car cover half off it looked like a shot of a model, you know where they're in bed with a sheet juuuust covering the goods and it's hot. It's probably rather worrying that i made the connection to a car.

Looking at the postst everyone is putting up I have disargee on one thing: an 8 year old car is not old. Think about it....8 years ago it was 1999 and -99 car's can't be considered old in my opinion. For example the E39 M5. Fantastic car yes, but if I think the concept of and "old car" I really don't even care what the 1990's brought to the table.

a Volkswagen Passat ? Oh come on. 8 years....more like 18 years and then we can discuss about old cars.

I like old cars, especially the affordable cars like my Peugeot 205 GTI or the Saab 9000 2L3 turbo of my roommate 8)

Well you don't have to be a teenager to like some cars that are not "that" old.

I mean it's no about age, it's about what we think it's cool. I'm 22 years old and all the cars I posted were from the 90's (except the Cosworth).
And what's wrong about that? Well the M5 e39 may not be that old, but the fact is that it's an M and the M's are always a step beyond the other BMW models.
Surely if you look a 5 series (not M5) you will think it's an old car because it has nothing special with it and there are already newer versions.
But because the M series are so special you don't look at them as old cars, but they are.

Ditto Vltros, I 2 am only 22 and I love older cars (mostly old school muscle) more than I do the jap rockets that are worshipped by most people my age. Nothin against them but huge turbos, bov's and drainpipe exhausts just don't do it for me.

This however............

Any muscle car of that era is fine with me :), plus:

The '90s are too close, but a special car of that era for me would be...

Peugeot 106 Rallye. Fun, practical, cheap... and faster than the basic BMW Z3 of the day.

I personally prefer old cars to new. Don't know quite why

Nobody's mentioned this yet.

I find it interesting how so many people on this forum bash American cars, but everyone on here wants a classic American car :D

Too many to post :D . Hope the pics work...
Two Lane Blacktop-ish '55 Chevrolet 210

Excellent choices. I may have to dig out the dvd my brother bought of 2 lane blacktop and rip one of my favorite scenes from that movie. I'm impressed you knew it was a 210. I know to many people that like to run around calling Tri-5 Chevy's "bel-airs". I want to smack them.

^^ you have to remember that the majority of the forum members are still teenagers, so anything made before year 2000 is old for them... But I wouldn't call anything made after 1990 old..

I'm constantly reminding myself "any 80's car is pushing 20 years old." It's weird to goto an auto zone and ask for a part for my 87 nissan and thing "holy crap, 5 more years and it's legal for classic car plates!"

Here are just a few that have to be mentioned.... First of all, I'd big into american muscle, but I defs love the 190Es and the 1979 Prosche 911 Turbo...

Thanks man. I try not to be totally uninformed all the time :p . It bugs the shit out of me when people just label them all Bel Airs too, or don't know the differences between '67-'69 Camaros, or etc etc etc lol. Little stuff like that can be annoying.

Did you know it's the same car Harrison Ford drove in American Graffiti? They built a few of them for the movies and I think only one or two survived filming both. That thing really ran all-motor 10's in the '70s, what a beast .

Yep I knew about AG. Only 1 is known to survive in original condition. You know the scene at the gas station, the guy wearing the "glendale speed Center" talking to "The Mechanic" is the man who built it? Oh and Smokey and the Bandit's Trans-am was over dubbed with the engine sounds from this car as well.

I gotta admit I'm pretty bad on the 67-69 Camaro's. My excuse is I don't have the eye for detail. Unless you mean calling an SS a Z/28 or the like. It's for that same reason I tend to clump the 57-62 Corvette's together, even though there are quite a few differences in the various years of the car.

skip to 3:30 :D

Driver: "Gee mister I'll bet it's pretty quick!"
Ford Owner: "You wanna find out?"
Driver: "Ordinarily I'd jump at the opportunity. But I'm not in the habit of seeing my Chevy work against a two-bit piece of junk"
Ford Owner: "Lets make it $50"
Driver: "Make it 3 yards motherfucker and you got yourself an automobile race!"

Has got to be one of the coolest conversations to ever have graced a car movie.
