If a wheel bearing is bad enough to fail inspection, you should've noticed a noise a long time ago.

I wouldn't say it's a common Fiat problem though. It's mostly Volvo, Ford and VAG.
 
It has been making some noise for a while now, not too loud though. There is noticeable play if you pull the top of the wheel.
And I did suspect something was going bad, just didn't know it was the wheel bearing.
 
Inspection passed on the second try.
