"bangle for president"
This has potential, but you've ended up with an uncertifiable uber-expensive death trap. Repeat sales are limited when your customers are dead.
I've got a different route. What you want is something that handles and weighs as much as a 1950s F1 car but is comfortable. There's no point having a billion horse power if it's painful to drive for more than 5 min and kills you when it gets the chance.
Instead, get this and build it's guts into something like this
Now I know you're thinking i'm mad, but bear with me on this.
Everything on the smart is modular, from the instruments to the engine. You could literally unplug every sensor, component and control and transplant them across into a new welded tubular chassis. The instrument cluster is one unit that contains everything, all the switches unclip, all the electronics are in one box. The entire car can be dismantled using just a torx set. The wheel corners are complete already and you could take the engine installation across as a single module.
So after a bit of welding you've got a single seat F1 style car that is comfortable enough for long journeys, weighs 500kg, has heated leather, aircon, ESP, ABS, traction control, cd player and only cost you ?3000 to make.
with a 700cc 3-cyl...joy
i'd have that smart with 2l turbo though
