I really wanted to stop over and meet you guys, but never got the chance. We were driving the #35 Camaro, you may have passed sporadically over the weekend. We probably got two hours in on Saturday as the motor chewed through belts every 4 or 5 laps. After resigning to hammering the crank pulley into shape, we ran most of the day Sunday while the motor developed a misfire. By then, the best we could do on the main straight was 62mph. Sorry if you got stuck behind us!

And it turns out we're not the only ones who thought the flaggers looked more like a monkey fucking a football.

For the record, we fired half of Saturday's flaggers Saturday evening. It got so bad, that I was forced to do the unthinkable -- remove passing under yellow penalties from three cars. We view all drivers as lying scumbags and have learned that the 180 degree opposite of whatever they tell us is the actual truth. Sadly, the poor flagging monkeywrenched our up until then foolproof system.

That said, and with the exception of the 100 degree, 100% humidity weather, everything else was great.

Was that on the forums? (can't access them at the moment as my IP address has weirdly been banned for being linked to spammers. The email I sent back got flagged as spam too when I tried to send it. Just my luck...)

F****** POS SatNav ended up giving me a 7 and a half hour drive home...should have been no more than 4 and a half hour tops!!

Anyway...took a ton of pics, and some even came out good! Also, some video as well.

More than once...I saw several of them with their backs to the cars as they were flying by...one lady smoking a cigarette....and another two were too busy chatting to even attempt to 'fake look' at the cars going by.

Glad I'm not the one one who saw this....
 
My personal favorite was the guy on the Karussel. Forgot to take down the yellow flag a couple times.
 
Wow, so many satnav problems. Let me guess... Garmin?

I really wish we had a series like this over here... So much fun for so little money (relatively)... The best I can hope for is one day on the ring, which ends up costing me ?250 in fuel alone.

If you have the time, all you need to do is organize it and put it on yourself! Once it gets going, it will pretty much market itself... you just have to make it happen!
 
My body still doesn't get that there is no race I need to get up for at 5:30 in the morning, ugh. <_<

In other news, pictures have been sorted and should be posted when I get home from work (after 4pm).

Yea, I didn't get to bed until about midnight (CST) last night, and woke up at fucking 4.30 (CST). Pissed me the fuck off.

so if im reading the final results list correctly (as see in one of those photos) if one were to disregard the 10 BS laps, it would have only gained team FG one extra position, right?

Pictures! I tried not to repeat any that have been posted before. I am working on the videos I shot of the last hour of the race and should have them ready in another day or so.

(Sorry for the delay - phyrefile and I were not getting along <_<)

Day 1

Trying to figure out what to do about the fans. We ended up taking the fancy fan off and remounting the two stock fans. (After EyeMWing and I worked so hard to get them out! :p) At this point we also gave up on running the car with the nose on. All that was going to be holding in on were a few zip ties and the last thing we wanted was for it to come flying off.

Team 555 chained together and made to sort though a bag of keys to find the one that would unlock them. The pile are ones that don?t work, they had about twice as much to still go though. They found the key a minute or two later.

EyeMWing and I pulled out the car before everyone else got there, popped the hood, and discovered a puddle of gas on the supercharger ? lovely. A bit of pulling and some wiring by Quiky?s dad and we were set to go.

Checking the front brakes and tires; this is when we discovered the front tire(s) had a slight wobble. Nothing major but we need to replace the tie rods before the next race and make sure there is nothing else wrong up there.

Scrambling to figure out why the power steering went out. Thank goodness it was only a loose screw. Dumped some transmission fluid in there to hold us to the end of the race and got Clegko out on the track.

Like I said before - this was one of the best weekends ever and it was over far to quickly. Cannot wait for the next one! :D
