There's a Copen that buzzes along the twisty unclassified road my house sits on every single day, top down and the guy (yes, guy) inside with a huge grin on his face.

I can see the appeal, i'd have an MX5 but the Copen does look good, is cheap and keeps that little British sportscar thing going... while being Japanese.

That Japanese brit-roadster thing also applies to the Miata.
 
I don't like the Copen. Yes it looks OK, but as soon as you're 6 ft tall or above, your head sticks out above the roofline, and you get hit in the forehead with flies and stuff

it definitely wasn't made for tallish europeans
 
I once saw a guy in a Copen, I laughed at him. As it was a dual carriageway he couldn't escape.
 
Let's not get hung up on safety and enjoy some more tiny Japanese cars:
