Police Probe Water Intoxication Death

Funny how the contest specificly requires taking small amount over period of time. If they made them drink it all at once nothing would happen. Stomach will get full of water and person would probably puke right away.
But making it in this way.. I'm pretty sure it's station's responsibility to check the risks, not contestants. If I were clueless about possible effects, I would assume station knows what they are doing.
 
That's how it worked in theory. But in reality, it involved them drinking loads of water over a relatively short time. The winner apparently drank about a gallon and a half of water in two hours. And he didn't pee.
 
I remeber hearing tha case of a girl who died after she drank 7l of water after having an extascy tablet.
It is probably irresponisble to take part in a competition that could result in death but the responsibility lies with the participants to go as far as they can safely go.
