how much do these go for nowadays? I bought a 1TB one (external though) for 75? about a year ago... So logic dictates that the price has stayed the same and the capacity has doubled since?

i payed close to 80 euros for it. so yeah, your logic works out

Small Guy, what thermal paste you using?

I used the paste that comes with the Noctua (Noctua NT-H1). It's a very good paste and it spreads really easily. Much better than Arctic 5 also in performance.
If you want something better in performance you have to go with liquid Metal but thats just absolutely crazy and you might not be able to get your heatsink off
