So I saw a Porsche 928 and damn, it's ugly.

Hmmm, i love the 928, I like the Rolls and the W123, and i kindof have a soft spot for the Taunus and foxbody too.... My taste must be seriously fucked up. Next thing i'll be liking 1980s Mercs too.... :p

I saw a 928 today as well. Far from my first though. I actually think they look rather good. I'd love to own one, but I can't get past the fact that it's a Porsche (so it eats very expensive parts).

Get a 924, you can fit tons of VW/ Audi parts on them :p
(at least on this side of the pond they're cheap-ish, especially compared to japanese parts)

Most of the 924s that came to the US are long since extinct. I'd assumed that to be the case everywhere, until I saw the TG ep with the 924 in it and did a little digging. The European-sold ones seem to have held up better and sold in higher numbers.

The 924 was exceedingly rare by 1990, even in that notorious Porsche haven of Los Angeles. The 944s look to be going the same way, but a lot slower and apparently more due to just natural aging than whatever it was that killed off all the 924s.

Finding a 924 in the US today is like trying to find a 1980s Cadillac Seville in England. You may find a few, but you're going to be looking for a while.

928 = sex
that is all. you are nuts

Whenever I see a 928 in person my day becomes a little bit better. I love those things.

The 928 is very much handsome, but my favourite is the 944.

And w123 mercs are cool!

We did one up at work (one of the few non Alfa's) for Targa Tasmania....

O.K where do I start?

Do I start at the shiteload of lead sound deadening on the tunnel (gearbox is at the back via a torque tube) around 60kg?

Do I start at the terrible oil system?

Or what about the electrical system?

I saw this supercharged 928 on the pikes peak hill climb. I love the looks of the 928

928, looks good, and the 308 gt4 is growing on me, although its just what the guys who get sick pf people making fun of them for owning Ferrari shirts and not real Ferraris buy

As said before: When this car was released it was absolutely great. I used to grow up seeing one of them from time to time and it was spectacular. Just remember how cars that came out in the late 70th used to look like:

It was so ahaid of it's time that porsche could sell it till the mid 90's with only minor changes.

Great piece of design to me.

The W123 Mercedes Benz looks Absolutely fantastic, and so does the mk3 taunus (or mk.4 Cortina in the UK).. The pictures you posted ave the hideous US-spec headlamps on, which look terrible..

OP, I must respectfully disagree. Yes the headlights look a bit odd when they're up, but apart from that it looks fantastic. Especially when you come home after a long day of work, hit the garage door opener, and see it starting back at you beckoning you to take it for a spin.

I'm just posting again to give a big Fuck You to the dickless idiot who neg repped me for this thread. Go back to your national socialist meetings and leave the rest of us to have a free debate.

To the rest of you, I just have one more thing to add: this isn't just my opinion, it's backed up by a real live female perspective (hot too). She basically said that the car is hideous and she would never get in one ;).

I don't think my car purchases have EVER been influenced by what women think.
