Most Beautiful Saloon car?

The Rover 75 (don't ask me why)

Good man, there's something about the Rover 75's design that's inherently right. I like it, and I'm not the only one : it was voted World's Most Beautiful Saloon Car 1999.

That would be because the styling is derived from the Jaguar Mk2/S-Type.

The 75 has a few details that are not that beautiful, but the overall shape is just right. I myself find the MG ZT slightly better looking than the 75, mostly because i don't like the headlamps and grille in the 75 (although imho the second gen is better than the first in that respect), and it has a repressed aggressiveness about it that i really like.

Noone mentioned this one yet?

Not bad for something that was designed back at the fall of the eighties. :D

I like the limited Dodge Charger Super-Bee SRT-8

They're pretty much the same cars, just with slightly altered bodies.

^ No kidding, I have lost faith in you guys after this thread.

The only thing the 300C has going for it is that it's so sinfully ugly that you can't help but like it... and the Rover 75? The butchered up new M5? Gross me out why don't you.

Honorable mention for the Citroen DS?

not just honorable, this was a revolution when it came out, at the time it set completely new standards which are still actual today.

For me this was a milestone, the first modern car 8)

A time where the french car industry was one of the best .

Sadly I got nothing to post, it is my personal opinion that there is very little in the way of "saloon" cars on sale that are "beautiful". The Jag XJ is a nice looker but nothing that would stop me in my tracks and say "damn thats a beauty.

Ok I know you are a big Mopar sack rider and all but can you honestly tell me those stack up to even... their originals?

I'll grant the 300c ain't a bad looker, but the "Charger" is hideous.

Agree with most so far, but anyone consider the 1961 Lagonda Rapide, basically a 4dr Aston DB4...

Obviously the Jag XJ, New Rapide and Quattroporte need a mention too, and hopefully judging by the C-XF the Jag XF will.

Well, the same chassis with just 2 doors and an American V8 will always be remembered as the Monaro... But as a 4-door saloon it was boring as a pile of shit.

We chipped it and it is faster then those speedlimited M5's and AMG's. Beside to that it is very comfortable and the V6 makes a nice sound. It's rear wheel drive is a plus too. So don't come up with lines like 'boring' and 'pile of shit'. <_<

PS: No offense meant, but the car really looks good and it is luxurious, and driveable as well (urban and even off-road) and i still think it is underrated. I don't know about the Catera though. :)

Just wanted to say that. :p

The later revisions didn't end up looking too bad, mind you by this stage it had just about nothing in common with the omega
