2009 Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix

^The Renault has a DDD fitted now, actually. Still, not bad to beat the Brawns, but I do believe that the top three are running very light and will be starting on the super softs for a short stint.

Great result for Red Bull! Who needs double diffusers! I reckon Webber will be slightly heavier than Vettel judging from the previous races, should be very interesting tomorrow.

Great job to Vettel, Red Bull deserves this, and hopefully a win tommorow. I think Alonso is on fumes, the Red Bull's are quite light, but Lewis is either really heavy, or he made a mistake on his lap that we didn't see...

^

or *fingers crossed* that McLaren is lacking downforce and pace, but judging from golden boy's Q1 and Q2 result, it seems that it's not the case. Maybe your're right, he made a mistake somewhere and couldn't get into top 8.

Fuck, why is Ferrari still lacking raw pace? McLaren have caught up already, and this is getting extremely aggravating for a Kimi fan like me.

You don't say. :(

WOW, who would have predicted this result, SHOCKING

Alonso must be very light, probably 5 laps MAX LOL )))
Hamilton on the other hand had his tires filled with fuel.
Kimi is back although in the interview he said hes not going after the championship
Impressive run from Red Bulls, especially from Vettel for managing to progress with just 1 lap each session. I must say though, they have be very light too. Vettel I believe said they were on the aggressive strategy.
Brawns just clearly underestimated the field and filled their cars too heavy. I'm sure Button will push hard and likely to be first after the pit stops.

2 all of you talking about diffusers, they still play a major role. Alonso got his P2 all down to low fuel and the new diffuser without which he might not have even be in top 10. Red Bulls I think also have slightly longer diffuser coz they rear wing is connected with it. Not sure where Toyotas gone wrong and Nakajima out so early.

"Observating" from Vettel was funny )

I think I saw Webber giving him a look when he said that.

I like Vettel, he makes press conferences fun.

Agreed! By the way ladora, I just noticed your new signature. Thumbs up.

Anyways, it looks like Brawn is starting to fall behind already. I wasn't expecting it to happen that quick. Even so, told you WillDAQ. :tease:

Should wait until the weights are published before saying that. I havent seen them.

When do they release them?

Vikirad must be happy, 3 Renault-powered cars at the top!
I'm quite pleased with this result, massively disappointed by Kubica's P18 though.
BMW and Ferrari struggling, Macca looking a bit better than last time.
Great quali for Red Bull, I'm happy to see them there.
Thumbs up to Renault and Alonso, he's probably extra light but even so, they fitted the new parts this night/morning and he only did 6 laps in FP3.
Toyota not as strong as in Malaysia, Trulli is OK but what was Glock doing?
Good job by Buemi.

Thing is, I'm not sure I should be happy about rain. Cause with low downforce, it compounds McLaren's problems, no metter how good Lewis is in the rain...

Thing is though, Lewis managed alright in Malaysia and McLaren have more downforce now, not to mention Lewis loves this circuit. I think he'll do fine in the wet.

Alonso running light, like most of us suspected.

Lewis is SO heavy! And Brawn people are quite heavy as well

I wonder whether there will be any penalties from holding up Kovalainen...

Ask Coulthard said, he had a similar incident, where the driver holding him up was punished.

Wow it is going to be ages before we see Kovi pit.

I wonder if Alonso willl try a 3 stopper. They've become pretty rare these days but if he has that sort of pace I'd definately try it.

Just threw it into Excel:

Position Weight Fuel Laps
1 644 44 17.6
2 637 37 14.8
3 646.5 46.5 18.6
4 661 61 24.4
5 659 59 23.6
6 664 64 25.6
7 650 50 20
8 673.5 73.5 29.4
9 679 79 31.6
10 673 73 29.2
11 679 79 31.6
12 697 97 38.8
13 690 90 36
14 652 52 20.8
15 682.7 82.7 33.08
16 690 90 36
17 697.9 97.9 39.16
18 659 59 23.6
19 648 48 19.2
20 679.5 79.5 31.8

Founds the number of laps by taking the fuel consumption as 2.5 litres per lap, assuming 1 litre is 1 kg (which it isn't exactly)...
