love the poster :) and look forward to this race. i like the LX4 too. it has good alround vision. great when i start second race in pole....... ;)

I did some practicing today, and made a setup. I think it's much more stable then the WR one from inferno. The suspension is entirely new, the stuff I used from the WR setup is the caster/parallel steer settings, the diff more or less, and toe. The 1st sector is really fast, I got down to 23:62, and you can do the uphill chicane flatout, albeit I wouldn't recommend doing so, easy to loose it. The problem is the 2nd sector, it looses a lot of time in the 2nd chicane exit, and I think it's not optimal in the last corner either. Still, I got it down to 56:58, 56:4x should be still in imo, which is pretty close to WR time. As for tire wear, if you drive it with your pants on fire it won't make it. With reasonable pace the tires get up to 80degrees maybe a bit more after 12-13laps, I didn't do more but I think they should start cooling down at around lap 19-20.

If you find it a bit nervous, or too under/oversteery, adjust either the diff on the power side, or the toe in on the rear. I found that for the diff 50-55% work fine, with 53% suiting my preference the best. And for toe in at the rear 0.5-0.7 is both ok.

PS: I didn't optimize the gears yet, they feel ok, but using the gear ratio calculator should squeeze a bit more juice from the engine methinks.

i got the team inferno set and tweaked it to suit my driving style (with the LSD set to low % on the left / high % on the right) so i don't spin out in the bends. i think i got an OK time but i'm still not very quick.

Small update: turns out 1st split will go to 23:56. :)
Improved my time a bit, 23:64 -> 56:49

I tried your set and I was only able to improve slightly (after 194 laps or so of practice). :(

I had to change my "controller wheel turns" setting to be able to handle so much oversteer on the initial turn-in. :p

I think my fastest 1st sector time is 23.88 or so, but man I just can't get that first turn right. (not that any of the other turns are a work of art.) :(

I think you have to let off the throttle gently, roll till the apex and gently start accelerating, That way you won't have any oversteer. The only time I get any oversteer at corner entry is if I miss the braking point and have to turn in more sharply. Most of the oversteer for me comes at corner exit.

ESPN do you go to the left onto the curbs before the 1st corner? I don't go onto them and braking is much more stable and fast that way if you just stay on the road.

Maybe you can upload an spr?

I go on the white part of the curb and it does seem to behave as if it were stuck in a gutter.
Perhaps I should try to stay off completely.

I was initially also going over the curb but the wheels always seemed to lock and the car was very very nervous so I decided not to touch the curbs at all.

I might give it a run if I can get on...just bought my liscense today :D

:welcome: aboard!

The LX4 is a bit tough to handle at first, but don't be scared. ;)

<_< My parents just called, it's been a while...why don't you come over for dinner...ect. I have no chance in hell to get back in time for the race. Why do they always call on saturdays :(

Ugh, not again, another 8 points out the window.

another meh race for me.

if anyone actually reads this post instead of just skipping down to the next one after they see my avatar, then they will be interested to know that the first race was quite good. i didn't crash at all, and i even had a duel with Pogo before he disconnected, and Silverstar before he specced. maybe it was me...

second race was boring, so much so that by lap 15 i was making silly mistakes and crashing a lot. most were caused by eating at the wheel...

looking forward to next weeks 'getting beaten by people who think they are rubbish' session <_<

I think this was the closest 2 races we ever had this season.

1st race, a bit boring, nothing really special there. Calm steady driving, tires at 80ish degrees, low 57s occasionally into the 56, which was surprising, I didn't expect to go that fast with such hot tires.

2nd race, amazing 1st half, until the pit stop at about lap 15 or something like that. After that I managed to show the worst big of driving in the entire season. I was running high 57s almost hitting 58s times. Unbelievably messy and pathetic driving. 1st corner, sideways, exit onto the grass, chicane exit onto the grass, last corner - sideways onto the grass. Fucking ridiculous, I was so pissed... 1 - shouldn't have lost 2 points to firefox, now the gap is 7points. 2nd, I was hoping to have a nice battle after the pit stop, but my driving was so stupid, I couldn't get anywhere close to him.

And then peak of the iceberg, ESPN loosing connection again so close before the finish... :(

Well, overall I really enjoyed the 1st half of the 2nd race, that was really close and exciting racing. Up till lap 7-8 or so, it was still a big traffic, all people really close together running similar times, nice battles, hard to pass, good stuff. But after that... disaster, a huge fucking disaster.

edit: I vote giving ESPN the proper points, those few remaining laps were unlikely to change anything. Unless he was in a battle or so.
