LOTS AND LOTS OF MINIS

Yes, I was there later on on that day, but missed those minis. We saw some BMW Z4Ms going round the GP circuit though.

the GP circuit??? what happened to the Oldtimer Grand Prix?? I thought the only modern cars during the whole event were going to be the ones from the mini challenge...

Wow.
Watching this cam is sooo addictive.
I've wasted enjoyed the last 25 minutes watching it.
I'm so jealous of all you Final Gearers who are within a day trip away from the 'ring.
I have nothing to enjoy like that in Canada.
Does anyone know where the closest, decent track day experience is from Saskatoon, Canada.
Does anyone know where Saskatoon, Canada is?
Damn I have to move.

I know where Canada is. Am I near? And I agree, I find Germany a decent place to be and would love to live there. Especially near to the 'Ring. There is lovely scenery to keep the oldies (parents) happy, and the 'Ring to keep us lot happy. The only problems I currently see (other than money - moving to another place in Britain is expensive enough), are that all family etc are in the UK, and the language. I'll get there some day...

Red SRT/10

Red SRT/10

I see the red Dodge Viper / SRT-10 located in the top left corner in many of the camshots.
Is this a 'Ring Regular or a track official car.

Damn.
I'm going to check Expedia for travel packages to Germany.

Its the Zakspeed Viper. Its always there, selling laps for ?270 - Clicky

That is their 'change over and wait' spot.

I would, and I'm sure anyone that's been on it, advise the M5 Ring Taxis if not your own car. The M5s are ?180 per lap, but can take 3 people, so it turns out rather well if you are in a group. And you get to be driven around by Sabine Schmitz, who was featured in Top Gear when Jeremy tried to get round in under 10 mins in a Jaguar diesel, and when Richard went off to try and get her to beat 10 mins in a Transit. She is known across the motoring world as a legend. She grew up next to the track and knows it like no-one else alive.

damn 270 euros is indeed a bit steep for a lap, but the driving it insane, the car is sideways through almost every corner AND yet incredibly good laptimes. I saw that car do an < 7min50 lap with smoke pouring out of the rear tires. I know it as I was tailing it.

Still, the M5 would be better IMO. Sideways also, but without the annoyance of helmets. And you can go in the back. Back seat drivers beware!

Yeh I reckon I would go the M5 as well. However the best lap would be Walter Rohrl in a Carrera GT.

i dunno, for me, 90 percent of the thrill is that "ZOMG we are gonna die!!!" feeling. In a racecar, that feeling is more compelling. In my RUF GT2 lap, I admit, i was scared shitless as I've never gone round a corner or accelerated or decelerated that quick that it hurt my neck for the next two days.

Why have all these lights on a tarmac track, in the day? Surely you can take them off?

I doubt it. I'd say the new E-Class.
