A GARAGE owner recovered his stolen breakdown truck in an unlikely pursuit vehicle.
Michael Robinson, 48, who owns Freedom Motor Company in Winterton, gave chase in his wife's Smart car when he saw his own recovery lorry drive past him.
Mr Robinson, who was with his 11-year-old daughter at the time, said: "After I rang my wife to make sure she had not loaned it out, I put my foot down and followed it.
"The chase felt almost comical, because I was chasing my own seven-tonne recovery truck in a tiny little Smart car.
Despite police searching the nearby area in an attempt to locate the driver, their efforts were unsuccessful.
