Yeah, because it's so common it's not memorable anymore.The last couple cars I remember with broken rear lights all weren't Golfs
Of course no manufacturer or model is completely immune to failing bulbs, but Golfs are very prone to that. Even the LED rear lights of the Golf Plus and Passat B6 tend to fail, usually 2 or 3 LEDs fail in the circle so they blink erratically. In my (12 1/2 year old) car a warning light lights up in the dashboard when a bulb is blown, be it in the headlights, indicators or rear lights. It even shows on which corner the failed bulb is located so you don't have to look on all four corners when it lights up...most recent was a 3er
Of course, there are people who ignore those warning lights, too, but those are beyond help anyway...
