Ok, pending a few small details...looks I'll be a Corvette owner this time next week.
Congrats! Don't forget to replace those terrible seats!
Nothing is a done deal. Still waiting to see the carfax and many more detailed pics. Also have to make sure I want that large of a payment.
Seats would be the least of my worries. It would need headers, x-pipe, catback, intake, cam, and some nice black 18" C6 wheels before I address anything like seats.

Make sure you get a compression and leakdown check on the thing before you take possession... More than one C5 has had piston ring issues.
I'm pretty sure a solution just presented itself. Give her a piston ring.I might have other large expenses to attend to at the end of this year (a circular object )
That's not a bad drive though, as far as roads and locations go. Though it will probably be too damned hot to leave the top off.The only issue I can see right now (haven't called yet but I'm about to), is that it is 1,191 miles away. So $336 plane ticket to Boston plus ~4 tanks of gas. We'll see how this goes...
 It would be the MR2's loud, hard-drinking brother.<<looks at location
I kid; good luck with the purchase
@#$%&es love piston rings.Got that $%&!# a piston ring.
Photos of the tire:
Strange that it did that...but it was a very cheap tire....
It's probably just a really old tire.Retread?
Retread?
Tires are IN NO WAY supposed to fail like that. The other 3 are likely similarly terrible. Scrap the car. Do not sell it. It's either going to kill the next owner or blow up on them.
Drive it to J&K Salvage in York, Pennsylvania. Bring the title and your driver's license. Walk away with cash and enjoy watching the loader operator skewer the car on his forks.
What's the date of manufacture on the DOT code? A tire should never behave like that, even when installed on a Saturn
That car should not be on the road. It should have been turned into recycled plastic bottles a year ago.

Sidewall looks old.
Agreed. I would feel like a contemptible asshole if I tried to sell that thing to somebody.
Dunno if this will help:

The salvage yard is very tempting....
The two front tires are newer. I know that for a fact when I paid a (who turned out to be shady...lesson learned) mechanic my dad trusted to fix something else that was wrong with the car...he said the tires wouldn't pass inspection.
Which was part of my trepidation and unwillingness to sell it in the first place. Nevermind all this, selling someone a polished turd like this car (I got the feeling that the engine wasn't long for this world this winter....ditto the transmission...) would make me feel like shit.
Do not buy new tires. Find a bus or pay someone to drive you if you don't buy another car before your next day of work.
