^ I don't actually. Its simply the government making everyone into pussies. e.g. Nowadays you do triple science in 3 sections - Base in Year 9, Additional in year 10, Further in Year 11. We had the choice of doing double or triple science. Those who did triple just stayed in the exam room after everyone had finished Additional to do Further.
< My secondary school timeline goes/went like this: Year7: Learn where everything is, make friends. Year 8: Piss about. Year 9: Get told its about to get serious, piss about. Years 10 and 11: GCSEs, no exams at end of year 10 - all at end of 11. Year 12: ASs, realise just how easy GCSEs were (where I am now). Year 13: A2s.

^That is an accurate description on life at secondary school.
<Our school runs it like this: Maths and ICT qualifications in Year 9, Standard GCSE courses + 3 optional courses for Year 10, same for Year 11. Achieves basically the same as the system used by every other school, but without the students having to juggle a bucketload of courses at any one point. Also we start the new school year before the Summer holidays.:?
